OPEN REPLY TO PRITISH NANDY THE CELEBRITY EDITOR

In India, right now, an open and brazen but, concerted effort is underway from within the political class (disgusted for being not able to face MODI in electoral battles) unfortunately abutted by the Press and Media (with least number of exceptions) including by veteran stalwart journalists like Mr. PRITISH NANDY to condemn MODI, the Prime Minister. I always wonder! Why, the media generally across the country in the name of brand secularism, a word often most misunderstood by a lot many of these except the distorted version of the same, to blindly oppose any activity by BJP, branding it as majoritarian oriented. India one of the most ancient countries in the world, believed to be the motherland of ancient Vedic scriptures which could be traced to pre BC era, not by Indians, but by the so called western experts could not convince the domestic media of the same. Visionaries are the sages of yester years proposed practices to be followed by people of this great land, with a scientific purpose behind, the science of which is understood by the modern scientists too, from west in the right perspective but alas! Informed Indians, Hindu Journalists included, refuse to accept.

Sri Pritish Nandy, blames BJP of hyper nationalism. Does he not know that the most advanced country called USA, formed just over 400 years, by a conglomerate of people from cross cultures cutting across the globe, display near militant nationalism? He uses choicest epithets to abuse BJP of divisive ideology as part of global phenomenon, disguised as modest. He further criticises MODI, the PM of India, of his rhetoric to intervene in the last stage of a campaign to mislead gullible voters with his funny or unintelligent observations while the Congress party had been doing the same or hoodwink the people with no trace of any benefit to the people for more than sixty years. May be, never ever questioned by Sri Pritish, except as a friendly mention being a journalist, committed. Can we call this, as expression of arrogance of modern elitist education? Or decades of long love for Congress party on the part of celebrity editor and his brand spread across the length and breadth of our country. British have left, but their controls on the institutions seem to continue as their legacy persists in the practice of senior most journalists to criticise anything, genuinely Indian.

I am afraid, this kind of deliberate bashing of Modi, as part of an attempt to resurrect the sagging morale of Congress party and prop up its novice Mr. Rahul Gandhi, to challenge the current PM including by publicly belittling him and/or hurl at him choicest invectives, will sooner than later boomerang. The on-going series of vituperative language used against PM, with least respect for the post held, with unprintable slander, out of intolerance approved by Congress, drawing vicarious pleasure from behind the scenes, is deplorable, in the National context. Press and media in the country particularly the visual media is angry because the current PM is not allowing foreign jaunts and trips as part of the entourage, in the PM’s or President’s Convoy to these media persons. Apologists of Mughal and British Hegemony, non-believers in native customs or history refuse to learn even after being told by their masters from west that whatever now being done by the present regime is correct. Loyalists of Nehru family, find fault with campaigning on issues neglected wilfully for more than a half century by a party on the weakest turf, as opposition too, to meekly lose elections after elections. It suits the elitist press, who are now unfortunately deprived off small benefits and privileges that they enjoyed in the entourage of President and Prime Minister at the cost of exchequer or public money. Press and celebrity elitist media pretends oblivious or intolerant to the present dispensation which is, unlike the past regime, seriously engaged, to extricate the country from out of quagmire of financial mess deliberately created and pushed into, by its predecessor. It is appalling, that a journalist of the stature of Pritish Nandy flaunts lack of eminence, may be because of aging or sustained blind bias to congress, finds merit in ugly belligerent approach by the trinity in the state of Gujarat.
